Looking south off the coast of Aruba, massive thunderstorms were raging over 50km away, over northern South America. August 2008

hm... I didn't realize the Red River flowed this far South!! Jeff, with any luck, perhaps the next bolt will get Chavez!! :) Cheers

We were too far away to hear any of the thunder, but the "light show" was amazing. This long exposure photo loses the detail of the individual flashes, but you get the idea.
