Really beautiful beach! Don't think I would trust walking on the pier, though. Looks too "dizzy-making"!

Why would there be a Manhattan Beach near LA? Is there a Catalina beach near NYC? Julian, maybe we can employ some of the Chinese smog-clearing technology before you return.

This is a familiar site to this Californian. I work not far from here. Julian, was this taken in winter? It would explain the haze. Our version of winter gloom.

Hi Julian. That "nice pier" is sagging dramatically to right of center of photo or else the horizontal lines on my laptop are out of kilter. I've been to most of the beaches on the West Coast from Baja CaA to Victornia, Canada.

Nice pier. I still can't get over the haze at Manhattan Beach and Santa Monica Beach. Anyway, I'll be in the US again in January 2010 and I'll take more photos.
