Yes, Mattchew, 8 days (of rain) and counting .... we are contemplating building an ark! Thanks to Jean-o and everyone else for taking us away :)
Carol, my feelings exactly! It's another dreary rainy day here in Kentucky, and I'm stuck in an office without windows. These beautiful beach pictures help get me through the day. Jeano, we can't get back to the beach soon enough!
You know, I may not live near the beach or get there nearly as often as I would like, but you guys always make me feel as if I am there with your beautiful photos and lively comments. Thank you for brightening my day :)
A spectacular site to see is the brilliant splendor of color when these butteflies (in the millions) make their migratory trek (stopping either to feed or rest) on or near the beaches of the Gulf Coast on their way to Mexico for their annual mating rituals.
...and, I forgot to bring my "butterfly photo release form"...
Julian - You're alot braver than me -- some of the sights I've seen on the beach are way too frightening to get close to, even for a quick photo! And, yes Jeff, those are butterflies. There were hundreds of them, but all were camera shy except two!
(With apologies to any of you fine BeachZappers who happen to be lawyers.) (^_^)
Julian, next time you go to the beach, please bring a stack of photo release consent forms and be sure you get a notarized copy from each beach-goer before taking any pictures ..... "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers", King Henry VI- Part 2, Act IV, Scene II.
Nice picture Jean-o. Are those butterflies in the foreground?
Nice beach Jean-o. I wonder whether the people on the beach have spotted you behind the bushes. Me, I walk right up to them, take a photo and run. Then I post it on the internet. Not strictly illegal, only a little eccentric. But hey, it's worth it!
