Couldn't agree with you more, Jean-o. Here's to you :)
Carol - I've done the same! I believe it's the sound of the surf and the sand between the toes that are the true sedatives...not to mention I tend to drink more Corona on the beach than at home...
Oh Jean-o, that's fabulous. I've tried to sit out on the patio in the evenings with a good book and cold Corona, but it just doesn't have the same calming effect as sitting on the beach!
Carol - You are so right about the book and Corona, that's one of my favorite activities at the beach! My mother owns a home in Mexico Beach, 2 blocks from the water, so needless to say I visit often - 5 times a year or more if I can. It's my home away from home, and a great one at that!
Jean-o: It's a great picture. How often do you get down to that area? I presume you have family down there that you visit? I have family down in the Outer Banks and wish I could get down there more frequently than I do. It's so calming to sit on the beach with a good book, and an ice-cold Corona, listening to the surf ...
What a great picture, nice sand & looking warm..... Ahhh, to dream of the beach. Tornados were close to our place, only a couples miles from us, we were shopping & we told about them... then went to a graduation party. Still a great day for us, just wish we were sitting on the beach. Hey Kimberly, 143 143
I'm so jealous of anyone who is at the beach or anywhere near the beach ... Weather beautiful here today but just wished I lived alot closer to the water! Rick and Kimberly, I hope those tornadoes were nowhere near y'all this weekend!
...and, Julian, sweet dreams and may your fishnet be full when you awake!
Jeff - yup, this was from my latest trip. We got lucky with the weather, it was supposed to rain but didn't. The surf was perfect for the kayaks. Gene - Look for these kayaks in a few weeks...we'll be going back then. We'll be sure to wave as we paddle by!
Jeff, So much to learn, so little time!!!!!
Jeff, Gotcha!! My kinda language.
Gene, if you tilt your head to the left, ;-P is supposed to look like a person winking and sticking out his (or her) tongue. It is a sarcastic smiley.
Jeff, translate ;-P for me please, you know we are from different Worlds!!!
And just how did you calculate the 10 seconds? I was about to comment again re: simultaneous sign -in but you beat me by 1 second. CHEERS
Ha Gene, I beat your post by 10 seconds. ;-P
Jean-0 , Seems these two kayaks went paddling by my beach yesterday... If I'd known you were coming I would have ..er.. well offered you a corona. JULIAN, it's a good feeling when winter comes, the tourist give back the beach..your sitting there all alone .. only then do you feel a true sense of ownership. Our winters are so mild and short-lived there isn't time for the sand to grow!!!
I'm not a risk-taker, so I'm going to pack a cooler full of Red Stripes for my kayak. Julian, if you don't find any floating Coronas, paddle over and I'll share. Jean-o, was this from your latest trip to Florida? I'm glad you got some nice weather!
Here in Sydney winter has arrived. Not too cold yet, but not warm enough for the beach. So, thank you Jean-o for this photo. Tonight, before falling asleep, I will imagine myself on the orange kayak, paddling off Mexico Beach, wearing my PFD Type 2, looking for floating coronas to put into my fishnet.
