Hi Jeff - Yup, the jetty is new. It was built about 2 years ago and is a wonderful place to fish and watch the sun come up. I really did think about sharing some fish, but thought the sunrise was a bit prettier.

I must admit that it bugs me a little that I cannot see how this photo fits with the satellite view of the canal entrance. I don't see any fishing jetty in the satellite view. Is the jetty new?

It looks as if there are two categories of early risers at Mexico Beach - those looking to catch some fish and those looking to catch some nice photographs. Thanks for not sharing a fish, Jean-o.
