Herbie is returning home and will stick to his regular Gulf shrimp diet.
Welcome aboard Jo. Ohio has got to be cold this time of year.. I feel your pain. At least we have the Rockies. Thank God for BIG favors.
Gene, once again this is a beautiful picture. My envy is thick and you must never have shoveled snow, it IS heavy and cold. Ask Jeff. (I'd rather shovel sand at your beach) Rick, let's go make "Castles in the Sand". 143 forever
Gene, I would call Herbie right back. Like most australian animals, that crab has a poisonous dart that can kill a bird in full flight, at 100 yards.
Jo, click on JulianP's photos (Australia) the first one in the lineup, you'll see why Herbee is on his trek around the world.
74 degrees now. Need Mint Julep. .. Will I ever make it to the cooler? Gotta go feed Herbee.
Hello JO ... from OHIO. Had an old Navy Buddy from Columbus haven't been able to locate him. Wouldn't happen to know him would you? Name is Norman C. Folwell. Yes it does count. I'm sure it was probably Herbee on his migratory trek around the World. Have good friends in Cincinnati area.
GeneCPart2 - Looked at Herbee - he looks like you'd better feed hi, or else. Wonder if there's such a person as a Heron Whisperer? We have seen blue herons at the lake, though. Does that count?
GeneCPart2 - Ohio - no oceans, no mountains, just humidity or cold/snow. We do have a house at a lake tho, but it's more like a river! I 've been looking at this site for about a year - love the pics and the commentary!
PS - Herbee may a bit scary, but I'll be happy to share the beach with him .... just to be there would be a joy.
Don't feel guilty Gene, once we retire, we're headed to the beach ... permanently! We haven't had snow enough to shovel here (yet) but it has been bitter cold.
Hey GeneC great picture even with Herbee in the shot. I dont think I would shovel as much sand as I have snow but you pic sure does make me wish Kim & I were there beside Herbee. 143 143 Kimberly
Caarol, sometimes I feel guilty sitting here surrounded by all this beauty and can't help but think how awful it must be shoveling snow, and then I think, snow is not heavy. A shovel full of this sand is HEAVY!!!!
Another beautiful and inviting shot of the heavenly beaches of Pensacola. Enjoy the 70's. Back in the 30's here today!
JO, are we talking "Geogy" here or Ohio?
Hi Jo, at top of this page click on BeachZapping.com. Click on USA, then Pensacola, in error I upload two photos of Herbee. (Ashton was my display name at the time).
Jeff, saw the movies, but missed that character. Weather here seems to be getting back to normal. Temps predicted in 70's.
GeneCpart2 - Great picture, great beach. How do I find your pics under former name Ashton?
Wow, Herbee scares me. I've seen that look before - in the eye of a velociraptor in "Jurassic Park".
SORRY, zoom-in to 150 or 200% for the look that Kills.
Hi Jeff, if you think this gull is distrusting, have a look at Herbee (my pet blue heron, well almost) uploaded as ASHTON . Zoom-in to about 150% for
Gene, that is an awesome view. Thanks for sharing. However, as the nearest gull is looking askance at you, I would say you were interrupting its midday sunning session.
Morning Julian, Actually this is looking West and part of the Gulf Islands National Seahore. Your condo is several miles to the East, near the center of the Island. The photo posted on 12/11/08
Gene, you have gone a long way to take this photo, but I can still see my two-tone time-share condo building.
Far and away.
