GeneC, I never tire of those beautiful, pristine beaches of P-cola! How are things down there? Lovely here but getting quite chilly in the evenings.
Jeff, your story forgot to mention Javier who sailed in on his green floating lounge chair for the momentous kite-flying occasion, clutching a can of warm ale in his right hand as he set foot on dry land for the first time in 3 weeks. How disappointed he must have been.
Thankyou Jeff! I can rest peacefully this evening now that I know the rest of the story of Bob, Bertha, and the X3000 kite. And, especially knowing that she let Bob have a Corona after all his hard work.
After nearly an hour revisiting the assembly instructions, Bob noticed some fine print on the packaging - "Kite string not included." Turning to his lovely wife, Bob inquired if she happened to have any kite string in her ample pockets. Indicating that she did not, Bob and Bertha donated the X3000 to the nearest trash can and cracked open a pair of cold Coronas. It was still going to be a good day at the beach. THE END.
I wonder if the couple will take the unattended fishing pole when they give up trying to "go fly a kite".
Hi Gene, still a great photo.. Even with the smudge. I give it a 5, would be a 6 if I was there. Hey Kimberly, 143 !!
Jeff - Once again, your story didn't disappoint me...Please continue as I won't be able to sleep tonite without knowing the end of this story. Gene - Nice smudge! :)
The smudge is back! I gotta delete this photo.
Jeff, I'm sitting on edge, don't stop now... and the saga continues.......
So this picture needs a story. Bob Johnson, sporting his sleekest plaid bathing trunks, arrived at his namesake beach with his new X3000 predator kite and visions of aerial glory. Bob's lovely wife Bertha guarded the cache of celebratory Corona with assiduous vigilance. Over the next half hour, nearly giddy expectancy slowly gave way to frustration as Bob tried to read the instructions for the third time. As far as he could tell, there just was no slot A on sail tensioner 6. The crowd that had assembled started to pick up their inflated chairs.
Ah yes, you need a nice tall cooler to hold those beautiful bottles. I steer clear of coolers that are only tall enough to hold cans. Blech.
And she guards it with her life!!
I spy with my little eye...a cooler full of bottles starting with C.
